Cottage Rose

I live in a little home (cottage in Port Credit). We are currently renovating our older home and trying to keep the character while making it functional. I run a summer community camp for children and refurbish antique furniture during the year. My children keep me busy while working part-time.
My daily philosophy ...
"change the way you look at things and the things you look at change". keeps me positive.

Lost Our Camera

BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE INSPIRED RALPH LAUREN FABRIC
We lost our camera New Year's Eve at a Children's Community Outdoor Ball hockey Game.
Unfortunately we had not saved our christmas pictures off the memory card and it was Charlotte's first Aware Christmas.  Her siblings were back from university and we had some great pics.It is so sad.  Hopefully we can get a new camera soon.
Vintage Fabric...Thank goodness I saved some pictures from the memory card previously.
That brings me to the  picture above.  I love going to local Thrift stores...Value Village and
St. Vincent De Paul as I am able to get some exciting finds.  I think this is one of my favorite things to do.  Going into a thrift store and finding treasures from the past.
I found this fabric from Value Village.  I love this find!

A sleeping baby shhhh!
I am up early today ...5:30 ish planning on implementing my intention this year.  Getting some things done.  Between paperwork for the summer camp I run, seasonal job search and household tasks and loads of paperwork I seem to run out of time and energy to accomplish certain necessary things. The possitive side of this is I don't really have a lot of time to worry.
Charlotte is a sweet handful so I need to do my computer work while she sleeps......which by the way is not often.

From Curbside to Restored

It took me a long time to find a manufacturer of wooden appliques in Canada. Each time I thought I had found someone to supply these local they ended up being outside of Canada. It looked as thought I would have to ship them in from abroad. I finally found someone and the workmanship was great!

here are just a few of the appliques

I have more than 15 designs to choose from........

I wish I had before pictures of this bookcase.  Glue gun, wood glue, sanding, couple coats of primer and paint and this old tired bookcase has new life. I purchased many different designs of appliques in bulk and have  sold some of them on kijji.  I so enjoyed the process and I am looking forward to completing more projects.

Santa Claus is coming to town

Although it is early it seems we are beginning to look for that special something for that special someone.  All the yummy decorations that make our homes so sparkly are in the shops now.....

Bling, Bling

I love a pair of sparkly shoes especially if they are a great deal. Costa Blanca, 2 for $40.00... Can't beat that! I've always had a thing for shoes!
